I am a practioner of Hatha yoga in Iyengar method since 1998. 8 years as plain student, had and official 4 years of apprenticeship teacher training program under the guidance of Ms. Carole Baillargeon of Darwin yoga space Australia. Training as an Iyengar yoga teacher other the compassionate wings of my teacher, in effect, was life changing for me in a most profound way. The assessment process was tough but I made it and so I am Level 1&2 Iyengar yoga certified, moving on to Junior 1 & 2 level of certification next!
After teaching for few years in my own yoga studio in Manila I travelled to teach private class a lot more. Then stayed for a year as a semi volunteer teacher in one of the NGO in Cambodia. After my 1st stint in Cambodia I travelled, contemplated where to I settle next then great opportunity found me. I came across a run down apartment in the middle of Central Market area with great deal of light and air circulation and so I transformed it as my own home studio, now the YOGA RASA Iyengar yoga studio, Phnom penh.
In this fast pace 20th century I am feel very privilege having lots of spare time, time to embark studies be it language, art or other form of body and mind therapies. I feel much freedom and comfort of being single, not slave of time, self employed . Part of that comfort and freedom is being able to teach in my own terms, teach in the way I was trained and basically not told what to do for the sake of more financial profit.
Iyengar yoga practice is comforting, its healing for my mind and my body and I see to it that I apply thesame to my students.
I continue the study of yoga through the practice, through teaching and though the guidance of Iyengar yoga senior teachers near and far.
